Ovation "Breadwinner" was the first mass-produced, solid-body guitar with active electronics. The '77 "LIMITED" was the last version in the series. Less than 500 were made and was by far the rarest version.
The Ovation Limited models were a combination of Old New England craftsmanship and 1970's technology. A sculpted body colliding with a built-in FET pre-amp delivers a full range of sound.
It was an odd-shaped guitar but that didn't stop it from being a very popular studio model with a number of artists, including Steve Marriott of the Small Faces.
Production of the Breadwinner line ceased in 1980.
